Part of the charm of Paxos is that it takes a little effort to reach. There is no airport, no bridge — just a short journey by sea that sets the tone for the whole stay.
The lack of a runway is precisely why the island has stayed quiet and unspoilt. Getting here is simple once you know the shape of the journey.
Flights
Paxos has no airport of its own. Most guests fly into one of two gateways:
- Corfu (CFU) — the most common route, with wide seasonal connections across Europe and a short onward sea journey to Paxos.
- Preveza / Aktion (PVK) — a useful alternative on the mainland, reached via the port of Igoumenitsa.
The sea crossing
From Corfu, Paxos is reached by sea — by passenger hydrofoil or ferry into the main port at Gaios. From the mainland, connections run from Igoumenitsa. Crossing times and timetables vary by season and operator, so it is always worth confirming the day's schedule in advance.
Arriving in style
Many guests prefer a private sea transfer — a direct, door-to-harbour journey that turns the last leg into part of the holiday rather than a logistical hurdle. Because schedules shift with the season, we help our guests plan the final stretch — matching flights, crossings, and transfers so arrival on the island is smooth. Just ask our team.
